The second album from the Pula`s Hard Rock band Atomsko Skloniste is Hard as the 1st one, with which they showed that they won`t mellow out. Until the last album with the vocalist Sergio Blazic, AS were a pure Hard Rock band, with few ballads or easy songs here and there, but basically a stubborn Hard Rock act. This is a great album.

Atomsko Skloniste (Atomic Shelter) is a biggest and most known Croatian and former Yugoslav hard rock band, formed in Pula in 1977. The band is known primarily for its strong anti-war lyrics. There were also bands that became known, but not any band ever matched their popularity. The band started in the period when Punk was the big blast in music, and AS played their stubborn Hard Rock to the bone, along with the lyrics by the poet Bosko Obradovic.

Jazz | Afro-Cuban Jazz | Released: 22 Dec 2008 | Label: Chesky Records | Country: Cuba

Paquito D'Rivera's alto and clarinet skills were ably displayed on this session, which featured him working in Afro-Latin, salsa, funk, swing and hard bop. Compositions ranged from intense, jam-flavored numbers with torrid solos, like "Recife's Blue" and the title tune, to introspective ballads, group pieces with rhythmically explosive sections and numbers displaying classical influences. The unifying force was D'Rivera, who also played tenor, but was most prominent on clarinet, doing both swing-oriented and looser, freer solos. While not as strict a jazz vehicle as his Columbia dates, this session presented a more eclectic, versatile Paquito D'Rivera.
