Such a good story. I love Ms. Ashley's historical romances so much. I eagerly anticipate each one, even going so far as to pre-order them months in advance. This story did not disappoint. Barrister Sinclair McBride is a widower (btw, widowers in romance, yay or nay? I say yay, they can be really hot, case in point… Gabe Bonner in Dream a Little Dream by SEP and Sinclair McBride) and father of two wonderful hellions, Andrew and Caitriona. The whole family is in desperate need of control, this is where pickpocket Roberta "Bertie" Frasier comes into the picture. Bertie and Sinclair's chemistry is smoking hot. Is it a bit of a stretch that a successful and very smart barrister will fall for a East End pickpocket? Yes, after all this is quality brain candy, and the reader should suspend their disbelief. Essentially Bertie and Sinclair experience a "thunderbolt" moment and are dealing with the aftermath of this moment.
Overall, a wonderful addition to the Mackenzies Series. I cannot wait for more. Thank you, Ms. Ashley, for all your wonderful stories.
