About the Author
Lisa Y. Adams, PhD, MSc, RN,is Course Instructor, Athabasca University, Alberta, CA, and Mental Health and Addictions Consultant, Ministry of Health, Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, CA. For six years, Dr. Adams was Division Manager, Geriatric Psychiatry, Waterford Hospital, and, simultaneously, was Community Health Nurse/Crisis Intervener, Health and Community Services, St.John's Region, Newfoundland, CA. She has conducted eight peer-reviewed research studies and has published 22 articles. Dr. Adams is an active volunteer in a variety of organizations such as the Canadian Cancer Society, and is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Newfoundland and Labrador Brain Injury Association and the Canadian Association of Neuroscience Nurses. She is also a volunteer Peer Reviewer for the UK journalHealth and Social Care in the Community, and serves as a board member of the Canadian journalHealthcare Management Forum.
