Aerobics Instructor Manual: The Resource for Fitness Professionals

Aerobics Instructor Manual: The Resource for Fitness Professionals By Robert L. Goldstein, Richard T. Cotton
Publisher: American Council on Exercise 1997 | 515 Pages | ISBN: 0961816139 | PDF | 4 MB

This second edition of the ACE Aerobics Instructor Manual began nearly 12 months ago with a comprehensive review of the skills and knowledge needed by group fitness instructors to perform their job with a basic level of competency. The outcome of this review, referred to as a role delineation, was used as the basis for developing the content of this manual. This new manual presents the most current, complete picture of the knowledge, instructional techniques and professional responsibilities group fitness instructors need to teach safe and effective exercise. It is designed to serve as a study aid for exam candidates preparing for the ACE certification exam and as a comprehensive fitness resource for new and veteran group fitness instructors. It is important to note, however, that the scope of information presented in this manual will not exactly match the scope of information tested in the ACE certification exam. Exam candidates should refer to the Exam Content Outline in Appendix B for a detailed syllabus of information covered in the certification exam. In addition, ACE acknowledges various experience and skill levels among group fitness exam candidates. As such, we encourage candidates lacking the practical skills and experience related to teaching aerobics to take advantage of supervised training programs, such as the training programs accredited by ACE, to prepare for the ACE examinations.
