The result is a book with a wide range of definitions and perspectives on relationships in a project environment. Inevitably there is also a wide range of styles and we have tried not edit out this ‘light and shade’. We hope that our book will appeal to other academics, undergraduate and postgraduate students, and the ‘thinking practitioner’. While we are happy for our readers to dip into individual chapters that appear most relevant, we also hope many will take the trouble to read the entire book to appreciate the very diverse range of knowledge available and research carried out. The information presented in our book has been located within a broad conceptual framework to assist the understanding of a relationship approach to the management of projects.
