“Religion is not for me. Just look at all the religious wars there have been.”
So I was told one time by a man in a brief philosophical discussion.
My response was, “Well, there have been a lot of wars related to love, marriage, and sex also, and we still do all of those.”
However, in the last half-century, legal rights have been granted in the Western world that have changed how we do love, marriage and sex. And the response of many Christians has been to challenge these rights with what they perceive is a higher moral law.
My thesis in this book is that healthy human relationships are attained by believing in who Jesus is and what he has done for all humanity, rather than biblical laws, religious laws, or any other law.
In this book I will share parts of my life story that caused me to come to that conclusion. Furthermore, I will propose a perspective on how to turn “wars related to love, marriage and sex” into dialogs that promote mutual respect and understanding.
