Introduction to 5G NR Voice
What you'll learn
Upon completing the course, the participant will be able to:
Understand in Brief about the evolution of voice in 5G domain.
Understand the deployment options and the expected call scenarios.
Dig deep into the methods for implementing voice by operators.
Understand call flow between 5G and EPC and PSTN networks.
Requirements
Yes, The participant should have knowledge about 5G basics.
Description
In this course we will understand the concept of Voice call in 5G New radio (NR) technology. We will cover the Evolution of voice straight away discussing everything from legacy Technologies i.e. Circuit Switch (CS) voice in 2G/3G to, VOLTE an IP voice to VONR or Vo5G. Here we are also understand the Voice Over New Radio (VONR) registration procedures which are similar to existing 4G VoLTE covering IMS Registration steps and bearer/ session creation. We will further take a look at the Call flows covering 5G – 5G, 5G – 4G, 5G – PSTN signaling. We will also dig into the different deployment options in regards with the 5G network implementation with respect to non stand alone (NSA) mode and stand alone mode (SA) and how the voice call can be implemented in each scenario. We will also looking into how the SMS will be supported in 5G and the emergency call will be routed in the 5G network. Finally we will be talking about the the 3GPP release 16 feature which is single radio voice call continuity (SRVCC) from 5G to legacy 3G network. So, this 5G NR course will enhance your knowledge about the features covered release 15 and release 16 of 3GPP.
