Control of machines is one of the most important functional areas for electrical and mechanical engineers working in industry. Bhattacharya is principal and head of electrical engineering department of technical teacher`s training institute, chandigarh. He holds a b.e. Degree from jadavpur university, m.e. Degree from calcutta university and a ph.d. Degree from bits, pilani. He had his practical training in the electricity board and a transformer factory in the netherlands. He was exposed to curriculum development and technical teacher training in huddersfield, england. Later, he went to sheffield, u.k.
