My name is Dana Johnson, and I am a Registered Nurse as well as former coconut oil skeptic now turned coconut oil devotee! I wrote this book because using coconut oil radically changed my health and the health of my sixteen year-old Corgi mix dog, Simon.

Let me share with you a little of my story. For years I suffered with severe, chronic depression — to the point that I was hospitalized for it twice when I was a teenagers, and probably should have been hospitalized for it a handful of other times as an adult. I have had two back injuries over the years from lifting patients which has led to chronic back pain and at times has been completely debilitating. When I hit thirty, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), which led to acne flare-ups, irritability, weight gain, and painful periods. Lucky me!

Feeling bad became my new normal. Don’t get me wrong; it’s not that I didn’t try to feel better—believe me, I tried everything. Over the years I have been on Accutane, a handful of different anti-depressants, prescription pain killers and muscle relaxers. I’ve gone to chiropractors, massage therapists, doctors, physical therapists, herbalists, nutritionists, live blood cell analysts, Reiki practitioners, acupuncturists … You name it, odds are I tried it.

Then I added coconut oil to my diet…

Within 24 hours of drinking coconut oil in my coffee the physical signs and symptoms of every single one of my health challenges began to reverse and now they are completely gone. I have no more chronic pain in my back or neck, no more severe PMS, no more depression and no more low energy. I don’t even take pain medication for cramps, because I don’t have cramps!

I excitedly gave some to Simon, and his pain and inflammation from his arthritis is also gone! He’s able to go down the stairs, play ball and go on walks again. We both have our lives back, and all thanks to coconut oil!

If you are skeptical of my story or my claims, I don’t blame you. If I hadn’t experienced this first hand, I wouldn’t have believed it either. I was so intrigued by the significant differences in our health that I began researching coconut oil and learned that my experiences are not unique! I compiled a large chunk of what I learned into this book, in hopes that you will try coconut oil and see if it makes a difference in your health and life too.
