Whether you are a lone teenager making games in your bedroom, a group of enthusiasts contributing to Github projects or a multi-billion dollar corporation using Open Source Software to fuel your business, you need to know the licence terms of components incorporated into your projects; and you need to have a method of handling and tracking components and their licences. If you don't think it's important you should at least be aware of the risks you are taking.

For the last 15 years, in addition to being a professional C++ developer and manager I've also been responsible for assessing licence agreements for components developers wish to incorporate into our products. During those years I've also provided support for various investment processes, reviewing contracts and drafting End User Licence Agreements. With that experience and my desire to share it, this book aims to bring a concise, pragmatic and demystifying approach to the tedious world of Software Licensing, to get you back to coding as soon as possible.
