Disasters at Sea: Every Ocean-Going Passenger Ship Catastrophe Since 1900
Patrick Stephens Limited | 1987 | ISBN: 0850598184 | English | 200 pages | PDF | 25.8 MB

Watson chronicles the nearly 200 vessels since 1900 which came upon disaster as a result of weather, fire, collision, etc. To be included a vessel must have either been in service or about to be refitted and must have been so badly damaged that its career was terminated. For each ship he gives a brief physical description (length, tonnage, speed, etc.), the owners, year built, passenger capacity, and a short summary of the vessel's career and how it met with disaster. Watson also includes at least one photograph of each ship, at times even showing before and after. Appendixes include a summary of disasters by country; summary of casualties by cause; the 30 largest ships in disasters; etc.
