Description
Since Franz Alexander, physician and psychoanalyst in 1950 came up with seven conditions that he considered to be psychosomatic in origin. They were essential hypertension, thyrotoxicosis, bronchial asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, peptic ulcer, ulcerative colitis, and neurodermatitis. Since then many more conditions have been found to have a psychological component. In fact, anywhere you look, stress exacerbates any condition. Research shows that managing emotions helps reduce IBS symptoms and flareups. In this course you will learn about connection of emotions, thoughts and body symptoms and how to help yourself to lower stress responses, relax and diminish flareups. I will teach you psychosomatic approach and why it's not all in your head. You will understand that the body is trying to process certain feelings on your behalf and it needs your help. We will discuss anxiety, anger and shame in the context of IBS. You will learn Emotional Freedom Technique and use it to lower the intensity of your emotions. We can also discuss secondary gains of any chronic health issues and what you need to understand in order to significantly improve your quality of life. When you know how to recognize and manage your stress and understand the root causes of your health condition, you gain back greater control and sense of empowerment. It contributes to you feeling safe and more relaxed and it helps to break the cycle of anxiety-stress-flareup-stress-flareup. My background is in naturopathic medicine, Ayurveda, psychology and coaching. I combine my knowledge of various modalities to come up with effective exercises and meditations that have a long-lasting effect.
