Description
If you wish to learn about the drugs that we use to treat gastrointestinal diseases, then this is the perfect course for you. Pharmacology is a branch of medicine and pharmaceutical sciences concerned with drug or medication action,[where a drug may be defined as any artificial, natural, or endogenous (from within the body) molecule which exerts a biochemical or physiological effect on the cell, tissue, organ, or organism (sometimes the word pharmacon is used as a term to encompass these endogenous and exogenous bioactive species). More specifically, it is the study of the interactions that occur between a living organism and chemicals that affect normal or abnormal biochemical function. If substances have medicinal properties, they are considered pharmaceuticals. This course will cover most of the diseases that attack the GI tract. We will discuss the pathophysiology of the disease, the signs and symptoms, and most importantly the pharmacotherapy. we will discuss the pharmacology and the mechanism of action of these drugs, their side effects, and their mode of administration. This course is special because it combines both pharmacology and pharmacotherapy. the diseases covered are1- Gastroesophageal reflux diseases2- Peptic Ulcer Disease PUD3-Nausea and vomiting4- Diarrhea5- Constipation 6- Irritable bowel syndrome7- Inflammatory bowel disease8- Pancreatitis By the end of this course, you will be able to describe almost all drugs that target the GI tract.Thank you for subscribing, and stay tuned for my future pharmacology courses.Thank you for your supportEnjoy the course!
