Optical Coherence Tomography in Retinal Diseases

Optical Coherence Tomography in Retinal Diseases by Sandeep Saxena
English | 2008 | ISBN: 8184488009 | 300 Pages | PDF | 11.7 MB

Spectral-domain optical coherence tomography has begun a new era in ocular imaging. The spectral-domain optical coherence tomography device can produce cross-sectional B-scans, like time-domain optical coherence tomography but with significantly higher resolution, and it can also create 3D area scans by combining B-scans. With 3D image reconstruction, the 3D area scans can be manipulated and viewed from multiple angles. The unprecedented visualization provided by this technology enables determination of specific alterations in retinal anatomy characteristics. Peeling and layer separation in 3D imaging are becoming elegant options. Visualization of separate layers in 3D imaging may be utilized to give a novel perspective. This book Optical Coherence Tomography in Retinal Diseases aims at updating knowledge of the reader on the current status of optical coherence tomography. Medical and surgical diseases of the retina have been included. The aim of this book is to provide a better ‘in vivo’ understanding of retinal disease that this mini atlas will be useful to all postgraduate students, vitreoretinal specialists and practicing ophthalmologists.
