Founded more than 250 years ago by a Buddhist nun named Ng Mui, wing chun is one of the younger Chinese arts and borrows many punches, finger strikes and low-level kicks from its older siblings. Rather than meeting force with force, wing chun practitioners learn to control and redirect their opponents’ force while overwhelming them with quick strikes.
Wing chun is also one of the world’s most popular southern kung fu styles, thanks to its association with its most famous student: Bruce Lee. Before he revolutionized the martial arts with jeet kune do, Lee trained in Hong Kong for years under wing chun master Yip Man.

Vol. 1: Choy Li Fut Challenge

Choy Li Fut Challenge, Cheung tells the story of a Hong Kong bare-knuckle rooftop challenge against a choy li fut practitioner in the hot and humid summer of 1956. The fight would raise Cheung's profile to one of prominence should he emerge victorious, and on-hand were friends Bruce Lee and Wong Shun Leung to offer advice and input. The topics covered include fighting strategies, observing one's opponent, the differences between choy li fut and wing chun, controlling the lead elbow from the blind side, footwork and much more

Vol. 2: No-Rules Rumble

Cheung tells his tales of dealing with members of Hong Kong's gang population in the late 1950s. When intervenes upon four of them committing a violent crime, Cheung becomes a marked man. A friend offers to smooth out the situation, but Cheung finds himself the target of an ambush by three men-one of whom is armed with a sword. Learn how he survived this no-rules encounter! Topics include dealing with an edged-weapon attack, weapon disarms, thinking on your feet, dagger attacks, butterfly sword drills and footwork for weapon disarms.

Vol. 3: Muay Thai Melee

Cheung shares the story of how in the spring of 1962 in Sydney, Australia, he received a call for help from a friend being bullied by a fighter from Thailand. The ensuing confrontation with the Thai fighter and his cronies puts Cheung in a situation where he's outnumbered and faced with three opponents all armed with brass knuckles. As the fight goes on, Cheung is injured but still manages to devise some creative solutions to stay alive. Learn how he did it! Topics include dealing with multiple opponents, defenses against low kicks, dealing with elbow and knee strikes, execution of stances and entry techniques, shin-kick drills and cross-arm drills for close-quarters fighting.
