Tech 5G Networks Nervous System Threats 2019, by Dave Masko. IT’s no wonder that “Big Brother” Donald Trump asserted in a Feb. 21, 2019 tweet that: “I want 5G, and even 6G, technology in the United States as soon as possible.” While Trump never discusses known 5G cybersecurity risks and needed risk assessments inherent in Fifth Generation (5G), there are techies in the know here in Portland, Oregon, who say they “smell collusion with the Silicon Valley ‘Secret State’ and China’s infamous telecom giant Huawei. “If Donald Trump is not in league with Huawei, in IT’s Orwellian surveillance and data mining aims, than why has Trump not banned Huawei for use in federal government intelligence gathering,” asks former Microsoft cybersecurity professional Carl Bailey during a recent interview in her nondescript technology consulting business in downtown Portland. “Look, we all know Huawei’s 5g networks in China have already produced this artificial intelligence (A.I.) technological singularity threat because if a ‘Big Brother’ like Trump or Huawei or other bad actors in Silicon Valley can control that sentient artificial intelligence than where’s world order in this so-called Internet of things when A.I. simply says ‘Hell No,’ and what can our systems do about IT?” Bailey, 73, recalls the beginnings of the Internet 30 years ago when “computers were meant to help satisfy human needs,” adds the old techie who fears 5 and 6G will drive more toward the skewed ideology about never standing in the way of tech progress. For instance, here in parts of Oregon coast that are becoming “Tech Free Zones” in 2019 there’s “real fear that A.I. has progressed to such awesome power that we’re already past the tipping point of when artificial intelligence is far greater today in 2019 than any human intelligence,” explains Bailey with a deep sense of chagrin when adding: “All is lost as we now allow 5G and even 6G to drive this singularity as far as ITs wants to go?” At the same time, techies may recall their computer science text books featuring mathematician John van Neumann’s first warnings that an artificial intelligence “singularity” will thrive and then do harm once there is an “intelligence explosion permitting cognitive abilities in a machine that greatly surpasses that of humans,” wrote Neumann of how and why too much information technology repeatedly forces human freedom to now take a back seat in 2019 because A.I. controls all!
