Croydon-born cook and food writer Rachel Khoo demonstrates her imaginative flair for the cuisine of Paris. From her tiny Parisian kitchen, Rachel proves that simple cooking can produce sensational results. Rachel's passion for food took her to the French capital some years ago, where she trained at Le Cordon Bleu. She went on to open her own restaurant - the smallest in the city, with just two covers - in her Belleville flat, and it went down a storm with the notoriously tough French critics. Over six episodes, Rachel demonstrates her contemporary approach to classic French dishes, from light snacks to familiar favourites. But she also explores the less familiar food landscape of this cosmopolitan capital, taking us to the city's most inspirational food markets and restaurants and revealing fresh and vibrant influences such as North African and Vietnamese. It provides for a fresh, surprising and mouthwatering insight into the food and the city itself.

Episode 1 (19 March 2012)
Rachel offers her unique take on a croque madame and creates some madeleine cakes. she also shops in the Moroccan part of the capital's oldest food market and takes a look on the city's rooftops to find honey created by Parisian bees.

Episode 2 (26 March 2012)
Rachel creates baguettes with a master Parisian baker and puts her own twist on beef Bourguignon. She also males a chocolate sponge with salted caramel.

Episode 3 (2 April 2012)
Rachel manages to put her own twist on the French dish cassoulet, and creates a cake made from pistachio and goat's cheese. She also takes a look around an award-winning cheese shop, and pays a visit to the world's largest wholesale food market in Rungis.

Episode 4 (9 April 2012)
Rachel creates sticky chicken, coated with a lavender and lemon glaze, and some grapefruit and pepper meringue tartlets. She also tvisits the seaside town of Trouville, where a local fisherman gives her some succulent scallops in a creamy mustard mayonnaise.

Episode 5 (16 April 2012)
Rachel creates iles flottantes, which are delicately poached meringues on vanilla custard. She pays a vist to one of Paris's best street markets and meets Joel Thiebault, the French 'king of vegetables', who sells to the world's best chefs. She is looking for some succulent beetroot to go with her lentil and goat's cheese salad.

Episode 6 (23 April 2012)
Rachel creates a classic quiche Lorraine, and makes some crepes with the help of a street vendor. She also visits a Vietnamese restaurant to learn more about the latest Asian food trends. She then creates her own version of beef Wellington.
