Description
Your posture and the health of your spine can dictate your quality of life and overall wellbeing. There is an ancient yogi saying: “You are only as young and as healthy as your spine is strong and supple.”A locked in, hunched over posture can contribute to pain, breathing difficulties, depression and anxiety, and increased mortality.In this mini version of my live yoga wellness program, Yoga for a Healthy Back, you will be guided through six yoga practices to help improve the health of your posture and back.A regular yoga practice can improve your posture and decrease pain and suffering. In this program, you will learn what a “normal” posture is; what causes poor posture; some tips on assessing your own posture (not to be replaced by an assessment by a medical professional); common postural misalignments; and the six steps that can improve the health of your back.In addition to improving the health of your back, a regular yoga practice can help you to manage anxiety and stress, build strength and flexibility, and improve your overall wellbeing.This program is beginner friendly. All you need is a yoga mat and dedicated time for your practice. Props, such as, blocks, blankets, and straps are useful but can be substituted with cushions, towels, and belts.
