This book was originally published in 1987, this post here is the edition reprinted by Foreign language teaching and research press in China with Chinese scholars' introduction. Except several pages of introduction in Chinese at the beginning of this book, the rest of the book is the same as the original edition.
As the title indicates, this book is an excellent guide to language testing. Henning makes great efforts to explain technical testing terms in very plain language. He covers almost all important aspects in testing, especially reliability and validity. His analysis is clear, detailed and thorough. Where computation is involved, a general introduction of the formula is followed by specific examples, which readers can understand without trouble.
