In my blog you will find many treasures either from my collection or from various good will contributors. Here you'll get rare and highly sought vinyls in high quality (16 bit/44 KHz), we enjoy rescuing many albums that marked us in the past and are currently irreplaceable.
Audiophiles
As I said before, I only post in this section for vinyls. I don't pretend to compete with the music industry, as there are already great technologies around, such as Blue-Ray DVD, Mobile-Fidelity, SACD, Studio Master, etc. I'm very picky about good sound, but if there is one of these technologies already available, I step aside and let the stage to expert audio engineers and their proven products. Images and Album art (for everybody)
This is a very sensitive issue for me, as I think that album art is as important as the audio itself. In this issue, I try very hard to compete with the industry that actually killed the wonderful vinyl album art. In my opinion, not even audiophile reissues have managed to overcome the old and incredible vinyl album art. In my posts, you'll find 100% high quality album art, with all the extra material that CD and DVD formats have deprived us: gatefold covers, inserts, booklets and labels, all scanned at real size (1:1) and 300 dpi. For this purpose I use scanned images and not photographs due to the latter poor visual results: brightness and image distortion, color range changes. Additionally, I design CD front and back covers trying to maintain the original vinyl art concept.

En mis publicaciones se van a encontrar con el modo de FLAC único + LOG de vinilo + CUE.
Imagen y carátulas (a todos)
Este es un tema muy sensible para mí: la imagen es tanto o más importante que el audio, y aquí sí compito con la industria que mató el arte de los vinilos: las maravillosas carátulas. Ni siquiera las reediciones para audiófilos han logrado superar a los antiguos vinilos y su increíble arte.
Con certeza digo que aquí en mis publicaciones, si encontrarás un 100% de calidad visual y con todo el material extra que nos privó la industria del CD o DVD (carátulas dobles, insertos, libretos y etiquetas, todas a tamaño real 1:1 en 300dpi). Para esto utilizo un escáner y no cámara fotográfica (por los pobres resultados visuales: brillos, deformación de imagen y cambio en el colorido). Además de rediseñar carátulas tamaño CD manteniendo su diseño de LP original.

Last week I presented one of the most famous exponents of the protest song north of America: Bob Dylan. Today I'm in America, but to the south (Chile), to present one of the iconic groups of the same musical current: "Quilapayún."
When I heard "Santa María de Iquique" of chilean group Quilapayún, I realized why they're in a privileged position and hasn't been surpassed by the rest of his peers in this type of American music. Yes, this's a work of 1970, recorded without pauses. Although the cantata is a musical form, Quilapayún, made a whole lot ahead of joint proposal called avant-garde. Parallel is necessary to understand, what I say: who hasn't listened to Rick Wakeman and his classic "Journey to the Center of the Earth '? Well, for many it was a precursor: music, songs and … a narrator (an actor), an LP without pause. When we hear 'Santa Maria de Iquique", we listen: music, songs and a narrator (also, curiously, an actor). But Wakeman published his masterpiece (no doubt) in 1973 and Quilapayún in 1970… important.
Great Quila! undoubtedly. Precursors, creative and influential … many of their peers in this type of music in the world have fallen under their influence and have imitated but never equaled.
This work, in my opinion, is the pinnacle of his career. Published by nearly everyone (attached various covers from different countries). This work is crucial in every sense of the word, and here the Luis Advis's genius + Quilapayún and Hector Duvauchelle were a perfect equation to generate a perfect work.
It later re-recorded this LP, a mistake, even if the enhanced audio.
Today I'm presenting the first version, of course, the better.

La semana pasada presenté a uno de los cultores de la canción-protesta más famoso del norte de América: Bob Dylan. Hoy sigo en América, pero hacia el sur (en Chile por ser preciso), para presentar uno de los conjuntos emblemáticos y más famosos de la misma corriente musical: "Quilapayún".
Cuando escuché "Santa María de Iquique" del grupo chileno Quilapayún, me di cuenta de por qué están en un lugar de privilegio y que no ha sido superado por el resto de sus pares americanos en este tipo de música. Sí, esta es una obra de 1970, grabada sin pausas. A pesar de que la cantata es una forma musical, Quilapayún, hizo toda una propuesta adelantándose a muchos conjuntos llamados de vanguardia. Es necesario hacer paralelos, para entender lo que digo: ¿quién no ha escuchado a Rick Wakeman y su clásico 'Viaje al centro de la tierra'? Bueno, para muchos fue un precursor: la música, las canciones y…un narrador (un actor), un LP sin pausas. Cuando escuchamos 'Santa María de Iquique' escuchamos: la música, las canciones y un narrador (también, cosa curiosa, un actor). Pero Wakeman publicó su obra cumbre (qué duda cabe) en 1973 y Quilapayún en 1970.
¡Grande los Quila! indudablemente. Precursores, creadores e influyentes…muchos de sus pares en este tipo de música en el mundo han caído bajo su influjo y los han imitado, pero, jamás igualado.
Esta obra, a mi juicio, es el pináculo de toda su carrera. Publicada en casi todo el mundo (adjunto varias carátulas de diferentes paises). Esta obra, es trascendental en todo el sentido de la palabra y aquí el genio de Luis Advis + Quilapayún y más Héctor Duvauchelle, fueron una ecuación perfecta para engendrar una obra perfecta.
Ello posteriormente regrabaron este LP, un error, aunque le hayan mejorado el sonido.
La que presento hoy es la original, por cierto, la mejor.
En esta publicación presento una parte en FLAC+CUE y otra en FLAC separados + CUE.
