Samy Thiébault - The Weather Acoustic (2026) [Official Digital Download 24/96]

Beyond a phenomenal public success and an aesthetic that has marked generations, the music of Weather Report reveals a body of impressive richness, dominated by two exceptional composers: Wayne Shorter and Joe Zawinul, who will later be joined by meteor bassist Jaco Pastorius.

"The Weather Acoustic" which brings together Samy Thiebault (saxophone) and Emilie Aridon-Kociołek (piano) revisits in an intimate and entirely acoustic formula the emblematic compositions of this legendary band by transfiguring them to better reveal their richness and their timeless character. Each of the titles is presented as a suite in which, in addition to these melodies deeply rooted in the collective unconscious, variations, extrapolations and other mirrors imagined by Samy Thiebault coexist.

We thus discover a new facet of this singular artist, more inner, closer to the saxophone in a new acoustic context alongside an exceptional musician: Emilie Aridon-kociolek, student of Michel Béroff, Claire Désert and Bertrand Chamayou.
