As someone who has been writing, drawing, composing, and improvising my own music for 30 years, I wanted to give myself an album as a gift. Haze Walker was recorded with that intention.

Without any preparation, whatever I was living through at the time found its way into this music: the concerts I had just heard and watched at Porta Jazz Festival, things I had written before, the excitement of the music I would play in the future, the complicated relationship I was in, the inner voices I tried to observe from a distance yet had become convinced I knew more closely, the ones that did not belong to me, the voices echoing inside my skull, old traumas, hopes and dreams, the voices of friends, the voices of others, the sounds I had claimed as my own throughout my musical education, the things I wanted to shout out loud, my sadness, my laughter, what remained inside me, the empty spaces…
