Aphex Twin - Xylem Tube E.P.

Xylem Tube EP was released exclusively on vinyl in June 1992. All the songs on this EP can be found on the 1994 compilation of early Aphex Twin material Classics, also released by R&S Records following his success on Warp Records.
The EP consists of four unusual acid house songs, including the A-sides "Polynomial-C" with its arpeggios, and "Tamphex", a repetitive dance track featuring a looping sample of a Tampax tampon advertisement.
This album premiered the first use of Aphex Twin title logo. The title logo would then be used again for his album Selected Ambient Works Volume II albeit in an extremely distorted version.

This has been ripped with a slightly unusual combination of bit-depth and frequency (24bit / 44,1Khz) but seems to play O.K. on all the equipment I've tried it on. Dunno about writing to CD though.

These are not my rips but were from torrents downloaded years ago, so info about the technical details are sketchy. I have included all the information included in the original torrents but even this seems to be second hand. These are by no means 'audiophile' quality rips, but they do sound pretty good, and I think they do a good job of representing an an artist who prefers to present his work on vinyl. Download them and give them a listen.
