By undertaking this ’Homage to André Marchal’, we had a dual concern: first of all, that of choosing, from the archives of the INA (National Audiovisual Institute) and from our own, the recordings that, in spite of the ravages of time, would allow for satisfying listening ; and also of offering, amongst his legendary interpretations, the broadest palette on as many instruments as possible.To conclude, we could not omit paying tribute to the great improviser that he was. These ’works of the instant’ of which he was lavish, you will find here a bouquet, admittedly modest but suitable for perpetuating his memory.
