True Audiophile: Best of Groove Note is basically a fancy name for the Super Audio CD label sampler. Groove Note Records began releasing jazz and blues recordings in 2005. They've also expanded their vision and have begun to re-release rare tracks by vintage artists and look to genre-bending vocalists in order to showcase excellent music coming from the jazz and blues traditions.

The inviting sensitivity of singer Eden Atwood and the sensuous rhythms of Brazil make for a stirring musical marriage on Atwood's first Groove Note release Waves: The Bossa Nova Sessions. Atwood, who's thrilled audiences from Chicago to Shanghai with her superb vocal instrument and unbridled sense of expression, gives the music of Jobim, Ellington, Lennon-McCartney and others fresh meaning with unmatched warmth, conviction and a flirtatious touch of playfulness.

"The Good Life" is the debut album on Sony Masterworks from renowned jazz trumpeter, Till Brönner, Germany's best known and best-selling jazz artist. The album is conceived for relaxed moments and draws inspiration form the great American jazz songbook, including new arrangements of works made famous by Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Nat King Cole and many more.

Recorded at the historic Olympia Theatre in Paris in November 2001, this is Diana Krall's first live album. Backed by her quicksilver combo of bassist John Clayton, drummer Jeff Hamilton, and guitarist Anthony Wilson, Krall's jazz heritage comes through loud and clear on this program of standards, ballads, and bossa novas. Her cool contralto vocals are illuminated by the Orchestre Symphonique Europeen, under the direction of Alan Broadbent, as well as the London Symphony Orchestra, led by conductor Claus Ogerman. Krall's deep take on Joni Mitchell's "A Case of You" is a great choice for an encore, and the album concludes with Billy Joel's "Just the Way You Are" (a studio track from a film called The Guru), with tenor saxophonist Michael Brecker and bassist Christian McBride. This collection only hints at what Diana Krall has to offer in the future.

She's back after almost 3 years since her last album and better than ever. Her sixth release from Groove Note, "Jacintha Goes To Hollywood", sees the sensual and seductive voiced chanteuse take on some of the theme tunes and other songs used in the movies. The album was recorded and mixed over five days at Sunset Sound and features an eclectic selection of material, from well known theme songs like "Raindrops Keep Falling to Days Like These" (the opening song on the original British version of "The Italian Job"). With some stunning arrangements and top of the line LA jazz talent backing her, Jacintha delivers some of her finest & strongest efforts, such as a prayer-like "California Dreaming" with Larry Goldings on Hammond B-3 and a dynamic version of "Windmills of Your Mind" arranged by Anthony Wilson.

Another set of sensual female jazz vocals from Jacintha, who is backed this time around by a full string section, arranged by Bill Cunliffe. This wonderfully recorded album contains great solos from guitarist Anthony Wilson & flugelhorn player Dmitri Matheny. Also features bassist Darek Oles & drummer Joe LaBarbera.

Anthony Wilson is a jazz guitarist, arranger and composer. "Power Of Nine" featuring the super-talented and top selling jazz vocalist Diana Krall with whom Anthony has been recording and touring for the three to four years. Krall appears on the track "Looking Back" on vocals. The material includes a mix of Wilson originals and some jazz standards. The album is produced by Joe Harley and recorded by Michael Ross in Studio 2 of Sunset Sound in Hollywood (the quite legendary recording studio for Led Zeppelin 2 and 4 and almost every Doors album, Janis Joplin's Pearl, and more).

A possible breakout album for Anthony Wilson, this organ trio with the superb Larry Goldings on B3 features two of the finest drummers working today - half the tunes are with the swinging Jeff Hamilton on drums and the rest session drummer par excellence Jim Keltner who lays down some truly great percussion. Aside from Wilson's exploration of Latin, south of the border influences, the recording features unique performances of music by Ellington, Hawkins, Jerry Goldsmith and Van Dyke Parks.

Anthony Wilson, the talented Grammy-nominated jazz guitarist and key player in the Diana Krall Quartet covers classics such as Kenny Burrell's "Chitlins Con Carne" as well as some original compositions ("Road Trip") through to an unforgettable instrumental cover version of The Beatles' "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" from "Abbey Road" as well as superb performances of "Prelude To A Kiss" (Billy Stayhorn). The Anthony Wilson Trio recorded this magnificent jazz guitar session featuring guitar, Hammond B-3 organ and drums.
