Massimo Farao' is a wonderful Italian pianist who has played and recorded with Red Holloway, Albert "Tootie" Heath, Tony Scott, Franco Ambrosetti, Nat Adderley, Jeff Tain Watts, Jack DeJohnette and Chris Potter, among others. Farao's passionate style and stoic romanticism are very attractive along with the rich harmonies he creates. For this release he is adapts and interprets Ennio Morricone's famous songs such as "Nuovo Cinema Paradiso", "Once Upon A Time In America", "Mission", "Playing Love", and more. Piano, guitars, trumpets blend the moving feelings of jazz and films. Venus's Hyper Magnum Sound is transparent and beautiful.

For this Quartet album, Luca Begonia rejoined with Massimo Faraò Trio. As result we got a masterpiece that gives you a sense of the essence of jazz! Rita Payés was born in 1999 in Vilassar de Mar, Barcelona, Spain. As a child she began studying at the School of Music in Premià de Mar, initially playing the piano. At the age of 8 years, at the School of Modern Music in Badalona, she added trombone to her studies. She has played and sung in several big bands, jazz bands and combos, including EMM in Premia de Mar, the EMM Badalona, the Big Band under the direction of Òrrius, Pere Paye, Josep Traver, Carles Vecino and Joan Moragues. In July 2013 she joined the Sant Andreu Jazz Band, under the direction of Joan Chamorro. In December 2018 she has recorded "My Ideal" for Japanese Venus Records. The album features Massimo Farao’ & Scott Hamilton.

From its earliest editions, the Isola Jazz festival, first held in 2005, has hosted innumerable exponents of international jazz, including the great drummer Bobby Durham, to whom the festival has been dedicated since 2009. This beautiful live performance — recorded in Italy, but by a group of musicians who record for Japan's Venus Records label — easily one of the classiest jazz imprints of the past decade or two! And as a further twist, a number of the artists here are American — which makes the whole thing a great trans-national performance, handled with energy to match.
