Twenty years ago, when Craig Armstrong sat down in his Glasgow studio to compose the cues for Richard Curtis' latest romcom, he had no idea the film would become one of the world's most beloved cult classics – and his score would be a central part of the film's enduring appeal.

The deluxe edition of renowned composer and pianist Craig Armstrong´s latest and, highly acclaimed, album “Nocturnes – Music for 2 Pianos” is out now! Featuring 5 all-new compositions, the deluxe edition gives an even deeper insight into Armstrong´s extensive creative vision, one which he cultivated mostly over the first lockdown during the Covid pandemic. The tracks were recorded in Armstrong´s home studio in Glasgow and feature an array of melodic and meditative soundscapes.

Piano Works is the third album of Craig Armstrong, containing solo piano pieces from different soundtracks played by himself.

Nocturnes: Music For 2 Pianos was written during 2020 and 2021. There are 14 compositions, written mostly at night in lockdown. The decision to compose for two pianos gave me the ability to write more abstract compositions, blurring the melodies and harmonies to make a diffused sound.

Craig Armstrong (Moulin Rouge!, The Great Gatsby, The Incredible Hulk, Romeo + Juliet, Love Actually) has recently scored the upcoming British/Australian drama Dirt Music. The film is directed by Gregor Jordan (Buffalo Soldiers, Ned Kelly, The Informers) and stars Kelly Macdonald, Garrett Hedlund, David Wenham, Julia Sarah Stone and Aaron Pedersen. The movie based on the novel of the same title by Tim Winton is set against the landscape of Western Australia and tells an impassioned tale of love and grief. Jack Thorne (Wonder, The Aeronauts) wrote the screenplay. Finola Dwyer & Amanda Posey (Brooklyn, An Education), Angie Fielder (Lion) and Polly Staniford are producing the Wildgaze Films and Aquarius Films production.
