In 2014, Cliff Martinez was the guest of honour at the annual World Soundtrack Awards Ceremony & Concert, where the Brussels Philharmonic, conducted by Dirk Brosse, performed a selection of his music for cinema. Following early stints as a drummer in rock bands - he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a former member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers - the American composer has built a successful and distinctive career in music for screen and is well known for his multiple collaborations with directors Steven Soderbergh and Nicolas Winding Refn. Nevertheless, Film Fest Gent's invitation was considered somewhat unexpected at the time, since, up until then, most composers featured at this event had a largely orchestral oeuvre that was more adaptable to a symphonic concert setting.

As part of the 25th anniversary celebration of the World Soundtrack Awards, Film Fest Gent presents Craig Armstrong: Music for Film, an expanded reissue of its very first official album (originally released in 2007). Consisting of studio recordings now available internationally for the first time, the album features highlights from Craig Armstrong's film works, performed by the Brussels Philharmonic and Vlaams Radiokoor and conducted by Film Fest Gent music director Dirk Brosse.

Film Fest Gent is releasing the album "Debbie Wiseman: Music for Film and Television," dedicated to the work of composer Debbie Wiseman, the guest of honour at the 2025 World Soundtrack Awards. The album features new studio recordings of her music for film and television, performed by the Brussels Philharmonic. The collection includes iconic pieces from projects such as "Wilde," "Father Brown," and "Wolf Hall," as well as re-recorded soundtracks from the films "Edie" and "To Olivia." Additionally, the album contains two previously unreleased compositions, including music for the 2023 coronation, and a solo piano performance by Wiseman herself.

The original idea for this fifth clarinet competition was that it would be part of the “Van Eyck project 2020 – 2021”. Everyone knows why this has been delayed by a year. For this competition, three composers were asked to write a new work inspired by the characteristic painting by Jan Van Eyck, “Adoration of the Mystic Lamb”.

A Symphonic Journey from Philly to to Utopia contains world premiere recordings of some of the works Dirk Brossé has written over the past 10 years, performed by the Brussels Philharmonic and conducted by the composer.

The world premiere recording of compositions by Dirk Brosse, recorded with the Brussels Philharmonic. A Pulse of Joy is the second album (the first one "A Symphonic Journey from Philly to Utopia", was released last year) contains world premiere recordings of some of the works Dirk Brosse has written over the past 10 years. Dirk Brosse, an internationally acclaimed conductor and composer, is currently Music Director of The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia.
