The Norwegian musicians Jan Bang, Erik Honoré, Gaute Storaas and Arve Henriksen have composed the music for the film 'Victoria', based on Knut Hamsun's novel. They have also performed and produced the score, which features the pianist Tigran Hamasyan, the guitarist Robert Jürjendal and the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra conducted by David Hernando Rico.

Swedish bassist, cellist and composer Lars Danielsson and his special guests create a broad sound world, using the sonic capabilities of a symphony orchestra to great effect. With the bass as the central pivot and the dazzling grandeur of the orchestra, Danielsson's highly-developed creativity in many disciplines is clearly set out on these 12 pieces, including the title track, an instrumental version of Libera Me from Gabriel Fauré's Requiem. It all comes together to created an organic rounded whole, in which it is clear that the orchestra is not just an accessory.

Composer/singer/musician Jan Bang is known for albums and live performances in collaboration with Jon Hassell, Sidsel Endresen, Tigran Hamasyan, Nils Petter Molvær, David Sylvian, Arve Henriksen, Eivind Aarset and Erik Honoré. After a string of instrumental releases and two song based albums with the collaborative project Dark Star Safari, «Reading the Air» is his first vocal based solo album since 1998.

"The Height Of The Reeds" started as a commissioned work to the city of Hull, Great Britain´s cultural capital 2017. Composed by Arve Henriksen, Eivind Aarset, Jan Bang and Jez riley French, the work celebrates the longstanding seafaring relationship between Hull and Scandinavia. It was originally the musical companion to a sound walk that took place in April, May and June 2017.

"Snow Catches on her Eyelashes" emanates musical authority, a hyperconscious layering of textures and musicality, at once evocative of some otherworldly space, yet familiar at a deep human level that resonates with each sonic flourish.

This far-reaching double album, recorded and mixed in three days in Lugano, introduces a quartet featuring pianist Tigran Hamasyan with Arve Henriksen on trumpet, guitarist Eivind Aarset and Jan Bang on live samples. The musicians had played in diverse configurations on ECM, but with Hamasyan at the centre of the sound, bringing with him ancient folk melodies transfigured in the compositions of Komitas, other inspirations come into play. All four players are at a creative peak here, whether freely reflecting upon Armenian themes or spontaneously shaping atmospheric soundscapes together.

Arve Henriksen is a classically trained musician whose ethereal, Japanese-influenced trumpet playing has literally placed him in a league of his own. He was born in Stranda, Norway, and educated at the Trondheim Conservatory. His interest in minimalist Japanese music went on to have a profound effect on his trumpet playing and his music career. Henriksen went on to collaborate with numerous musicians on avant-garde, minimalist, and Eastern-influenced music, working with artists such as Anders Jormin, Edward Vesala, and the Source, before striking out on his own with 2001's Sakuteiki. He is also the trumpter of the improvisational jazz terror group Supersilent.

The renowned Norwegian guitarist - who has previously contributed to ECM recordings with Nils Petter Molvær, Marilyn Mazur, Arve Henriksen, Andy Sheppard, Arild Andersen and Jon Hassell - with a first ‘leader’ disc for the label, recorded in Kristiansand and Oslo. “Dream Logic” is aptly named, its slowly developing drifting pieces, built up from layers of guitars, have an almost hallucinatory quality, an otherworldly ambience. Jan Bang, who is co-composer of a number of the pieces, also contributes sounds and samples, and co-produced the disc.
