Children of Bodom was a Finnish melodic death metal band from Espoo. Formed in 1993 as Inearthed, the final line-up of the group upon their split in 2019 consisted of Alexi Laiho (lead guitar, lead vocals), Jaska Raatikainen (drums), Henkka Seppälä (bass), Janne Wirman (keyboard), and Daniel Freyberg (rhythm guitar). The band released ten studio albums, two live albums, two EPs, two compilation albums and one DVD.

Soilwork is back with their twelfth studio album, which represents the band in their growth and their current phase of life, which is marked by a time period that probably no one on this planet will forget so quickly. This style seems to sit in a midway between Gothenburg Death Thrash Metal and Modern Thrash. Tuning style is pretty Neo Thrashy with the crunchy guitar tone and the tight snares. Although fast tremolo picking, Dissection like solos and dissonant melodies adds it a Melodic Black taste. This must be their effort of mixing everything they like, and the result is pretty stunning.
