Loving’s origin story sounds like a myth, or a joke—Jesse Henderson and David Parry walk into the woods separately (as tree planters in Western Canada) and a little while later, a folk-pop brotherhood emerges from the forest.

British electronic group Leftfield have reissued their 1995 debut album Leftism in May this year as Leftism 22. The reissue comes in the form of a double deluxe edition which feature the remastered album (Neil Barnes and Paul Daley have taken care of remastering duties) on the first CD and a bonus disc of the 11 album tracks remixed by a host of "top house/electronica/techno artists".

'I'm always looking for ways to be surprised,' says composer and multi-instrumentalist Jeff Parker as he explains the process, and the thinking, behind 'Suite for Max Brown'. 'If I sit down at the piano or with my guitar, with staff paper and a pencil, I'm eventually going to fall into writing patterns, into things I already know. So, when I make music, that's what I'm trying to get away from-the things that I know.' Despite its musical departures, in presentation 'Suite for Max Brown' is an informal companion piece to 'The New Breed' (2016).

Black Market is an instrumental jazz fusion album released by Weather Report in 1976. This album was produced by Joe Zawinul and Wayne Shorter. It was recorded in December 1975 and released in April 1976 through Columbia Records. This is Weather Report's seventh overall album and the first with the bass player Jaco Pastorius who features on two tracks. The back cover photo shows Pastorius, Chester Thompson and Alex Acuña with the band, although Alphonso Johnson played on more than half of the record. The album draws heavily from African influences and its style could be described as "world fusion". The second Track, "Cannon Ball" is tribute to Zawinul's then recently deceased former band leader, saxophonist Julian "Cannonball" Adderley.

Soultrane is one of the essential albums in John Coltrane’s career. Recorded during the first year of his Prestige contract, between his critical service in Thelonious Monk’s quartet and his return to the band of Miles Davis, it finds the tenor saxophonist displaying a new level of both technical and conceptual refinement, dispensing torrents of notes that annotator Ira Gitler famously dubbed "sheets of sound".
