Projekt celebrates the 40th anniversary of this ambient classic with a beautiful remastered limited edition LP, 1CD, & 3CD. Structures from Silence‘s breathing, suspended embrace of atmospheres and serene melodies instantly struck a chord with listeners in 1984; the album continues to reiterate its timeless resonations with new listeners today. On this landmark recording of gentle proportions, the three long-form tracks were the birth of something new: an original and pure statement striking a balance between diaphanous and understated, deep and reflective. The listening experience evokes a sense of silence within the music as well as the space between the chords. It expresses the breath of life and offers a meditation on delicate strands of subtle awareness.

We are excited to present this soulful 30 year reunion between two stalwarts of Ambient-Electronic music in its entirety, exactly as it occurred. Steve and Robert answered the urge for unification after a very long orbit and 40 year friendship, reuniting and engaging their collective creative process, fueled with decades of individual innovations, genre defining releases and worldwide concerts.

The foundation of Slow Contrast was created in the year 2000. With some time gone by to let this piece cure, the view of glorious billowing summer monsoon storm clouds on the horizon from the Timehouse window inspired the evolution of the piece as I merged with this space adding more colors, contrast and moods on these last days of July 2023. The deeper contrast from over time are reveled… Cobalt and Heat Index #3 were created over the the last few days of July 2023 in prep for the Aug 1 Ambient lounge.

This new release features extended and alternate versions of three pieces from the recent Sanctuary of Desire album by Steve Roach. Currents of Desire, Integration Being and Night Flower together flow forth in this set creating a powerful unified portal that further expands the vision of this sonic cathedral of the future built to hold and nourish the deep evolving spirit of the creative life. The feeling of transcendent yearning, aspiration and integration is fully alive and further enhanced within these three expanded and beautifully mastered versions.

Nectar Meditation is the debut collaboration from Steve Roach (synths) and Serena Gabriel (harmonium, voice, temple bells). The focus of their work together is to provide a potent, immersive and transcendent experience through the power of sound. This intention is activated through the combination of acoustic instrumentation of ancient origins with a vast array of vintage and current analog synthesizers, creating a compelling new hybrid of archaic and contemporary sacred space music.

Magnificent, majestic and voluminous truly describes the expansive sonic experience spanning this 140-minute 2-CD set. The Sky Opens represents a sublime moment in the evolution of Steve’s 40-year history within the ambient/electronic genre. His sound manifests through an artistic process of real-time engaged interaction where his vision is channeled through a blend of technology, composition and improvisation, all captured in the moment of creation. This transpires for Steve in the studio as well as in live settings where mostly hardware instruments bring his studio environment to the stage.
