Right from the start of “Cosmic Blue” the opening track “Helia” marks its territory. You can hear Jonathan E. Blakes roots in electronic music, very much influenced by Jean-Michel Jarre. The cover artwork fits the mood of the music perfectly: vast, chilly and yet an emotional shelter.

The 80’s electronic sounds in all of the Swiss producer’s songs are very much in vogue again and even made their way into the charts. “Velaraii” is one of those catchy retro songs with a nice synth hook and just as danceable as most of the tracks on “Cosmic Blue”.

“Kelial” is a unique blend of a danceable beat, spheric pads and dreamy vocals. The song is like an inner journey. It rises from the depth of your soul, swirling up your consciousness and tenderly swaying you towards trance.

The nine songs on “Cosmic Blue” are all of the same handwriting and tell you a whole story. And it ends right where it started – it’s an orbit.
