Recorded in Amsterdam while Perry was allegedly gobbling acid by the handful, Return is a truly spacey, meandering, borderline incoherent, but frequently amazing recording. As if Perry needed chemical stimulation to be far out, this record is a stunning glimpse of how far he was planning to push the production envelope. Must be heard to be believed. John Dougan AMG
