Lyn And Graham McCarthy - Bitter And Sweet (EMI Columbia SX 6129) (UK 1967) (Vinyl 24-96, Mono)

Graham McCarthy is better known as the male half of the couple Lyn and Graham McCarthy who commenced their folk singing career in Adelaide in the early 1960s. They then spent many years in the UK where they were very much in popular demand especially for TV performances. They produced four albums of mixed Australian, US and UK folk music in the UK returning to Australia in the 1970s. australianfolk.blogspot.com

Extremely rare UK original strange folk-based LP by this english/australian duo. Lyn and Graham are backed by a full band and orchestra. They mixed original songs, covers and traditional adaptations in a sort of experimental mixture of folk/rock with beat and swingin' London popsike music. It features nice female vocals and also male vocals…probably the second rarest folk(ish) album on the label behind Julie Covington…

Unfortunately there are some passages with distortion in the back, mainly in A1. Overall the record is in a nice condition and sounds very good. Not only the rarity makes it worth to listen…
