They came, they saw, they are conquering! Pep Guardiola‘s Manchester City have been told by Ryan Giggs they need to win multiple titles before they can be considered the greatest Premier League side ever. City have blitzed their rivals by dropping only nine points so far. That form, coupled with the aesthetically-pleasing style Guardiola’s side have produced, has led to suggestions his team could be thought of as the best in Premier League
history. Yet former Manchester United winger Giggs, the
division’s most decorated player, insists City have to back up
their “wonder season” with further titles if they want recognition
alongside United’s 1999 treble-winning squad, Arsenal’s
Invincibles and Jose Mourinho’s first Chelsea side. Now that's
a mouthful. Anyway February was a hive of activity as talent tackled talent at the Winter Olympics in South Korea. Dubbed the "Peace Games", amazing memories were created. Who shall ever forget how Chloe Kim emerged from nowhere to become the poster girl of the games? Let's face it, there is never a dull calendar month in sports. February also witnessed the start of Super Rugby and one person whose stealing all the headlines is Aphiwe Dyantyi. What a talent this young man is. We couldn't help but to feature him in this month's issue. Swiss tennis ace Roger Federer achieved the rare feat of being the oldest player to top the ATP rankings. What an achievement from him. His imminent rise from the ashes and dust of obscurity is just unbelievable. Read all about it in this issue. We have also featured South Africa's flamboyant new president Cyril Ramaphosa and his sporting ways, Kaizer Chiefs' Daniel Cardoso, the Super Rugby, sports technology, fitness, and a whole bunch of other fascinating sports stories. So go on, grab yourself a cold one, put your feet up and enjoy One Sport Magazine. Whichever way you love your sport, we have
you covered.
