As the days get lighter and brighter we want to shake off the sluggish feeling of winter. This season’s issue of Optimum Nutrition looks at Ayurveda, and asks if ancient knowledge from the subcontinent could put a spring in our step. We look at what Ayurveda means, and how its practitioners believe it can benefit our overall wellbeing through diet. We also investigate how Indian head massage, a part of Ayurveda, is now being used as therapy for adults and young people with autism and special needs. We also feature four delicious recipes from The Everyday Ayurveda Cookbook by Kate O’Donnell.

Focusing on research, we also look at the ketogenic diet, which has been called a ‘one-two punch’ to cancer, and whether a nutritional pathway may help cancer patients.

On the lighter side, we ask whether size is important when it comes to being satisfied, and if reducing plate sizes could tackle obesity without sacrificing satisfaction.

Out feature interview is with Mary Daniels – author, mentor and speaker – about how abuse during her childhood and controlling relationships contributed to body dysmorphia.

All this is in addition to All Woman, Men’s World, Move It, Food Fact File, our regular research news and update features, and much more!
