Arcadia were the pop group formed in 1985 by Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes and Roger Taylor of Duran Duran, during a break in that band's schedule. However, Roger Taylor appeared in only a few band photographs and in none of the music videos, and stated he was only to be involved in the recording side of the project (he also had minor involvement in The Power Station, the other Duran Duran splinter group). The name of the band was reportedly inspired by the Nicolas Poussin painting Et in Arcadia ego (also known as "The Arcadian Shepherds").
The group recorded just one album, the platinum-selling So Red the Rose. It peaked at no.30 in the UK and no.23 in the US, and featured the UK/US top 10 single "Election Day," as well as "The Flame," "The Promise," and "Goodbye Is Forever". Simon Le Bon described So Red the Rose as "the most pretentious album ever made", while Allmusic called it "the best album Duran Duran never made". Musicians who contributed to the album included guitarists David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) and Carlos Alomar, pianist Herbie Hancock, Sting (who provided backing vocals on "The Promise"), Grace Jones (who provided brief but dramatic spoken-word interludes on "The Flame" and "Election Day"), bass player Mark Egan of the Pat Metheny Group (whose very distinctive fretless sound can be recognised in "The Promise", "El Diablo" and "Lady Ice") and David Van Tieghem, a percussionist from New York.

Exploring Dallapiccola’s orchestral works in excellent company

The new disc includes the first modern recording of Dialoghi (1960) – the most hermetic of all Dallapiccola’s works in its inwardness and glacial, though never inexpressive, harmonies, played with keen eloquence by Jean-Guihen Queyras. A satellite to the in-progress Ulisse, Three Questions with Two Answers (1963) fairly encapsulates the opera’s metaphysical concerns in its motivic richness and sense of grand vistas – whether of nature or humanity – aspiring towards the infinite.

Rophé obtains responsive playing from Turin’s RAI orchestra, with sound that brings out detail and atmosphere in equal measure. If the Chandos CD is an ideal introduction to Dallapiccola’s music, the Stradivarius disc is a necessary follow-up and can be strongly recommended.

Ein deutsches album (English: A German album), released in July 1980, is a German language version of Peter Gabriel's third album, Peter Gabriel (1980). The record was released in Germany two months after the standard English language version. The German market was given a foretaste of the album with a February 1980 single that likewise contained German language versions of "Games Without Frontiers" and "Here Comes the Flood."
The main difference between ein deutsches album and the international version of Peter Gabriel is mainly that Gabriel redid all of his vocals in German. Since the vocals were overdubbed on top of the instrumental and backing vocal tracks, there are few other differences. However, alternate takes of some of the instruments seem to have been used occasionally, and the mix is somewhat different.
The German lyrics are more or less straight translations from the English. Two years later, Gabriel released deutsches album (1982), a significantly altered version of his fourth album Peter Gabriel (1982) (Security in North America).
The vinyl and CD versions do contain one minor anomaly, in that "Start" (the third track of the English language version) became the beginning of the German version of "I Don't Remember," rather than simply being the track that preceded it. Consequently, "Frag mich nicht immer" has the playing time of "Start" plus "I Don't Remember" from the English language version. In addition, the African song sung at the beginning and end of "Biko" is different from the English language version. The background vocals in "Biko" are different with an added, very noticeable, higher harmony than in the English version, that sounds more like a doubling with one harmony. Wikipedia
