This remix project was an opportunity to revisit the first album of Awir Leon Giants acclaimed by the medias (BBC, KCRW, Clash, Hypebeast, Les Inrocks, Tsugi).
A year after the release of his debut album GIANTS, Awir Leon gathers his peers around a second edition, comprised of original tracks and remixes.
From Jayfly and Nowadays Records, two of the many music families he’s part of, he has invited 11 artists to offer up their interpretations of his works. Among them you’ll hear Ikaz Boi, Jumo, Floyd Shakim, Hugo LX, Sebastien Forrester and, of course, his two brothers in arms and UNNO members, Tismé and J. Kid (who also form PS5).
« This project gave me the chance to revisit GIANTS a year on, after taking these tracks on tour through France and Europe, either solo or with the dance piece « SUNNY », choreographed by Emanuel Gat.
What began as an intimate solo endeavour, now belongs to many. It then seemed interesting to offer an outside perspective on these tracks, and to celebrate the album for what it became, before moving forward.”
