Ten is a British melodic hard rock band which was formed in 1995. Up until June 2015, the band has released fourteen studio albums, four compilation albums, four EPs, a double live album, nine music videos and four lyric videos, with the latest one being "The Esoteric Ocean", from their 14th studio album Illuminati. In March 2016, the band announced their return to Frontiers for a multi-album deal, starting with the release of their thirteenth studio album entitled Gothica and a reissue of their back catalogue in box-set format, entitled Opera Omnia. The band's fourteenth studio album entitled Illuminati, was released in November 2018, through Frontiers Records, while the box set Opera Omnia, followed some months later, to huge critical acclaim.

Gabriel Dupont, born in 1878, was a pupil of Massenet and Widor and, probably encouraged by his friendship with Vierne, dipped more than the odd toe into Franckian waters. Franck’s influence is clear in the Poème for piano quintet of 1911, a steamy work requiring considerable virtuosity, and here receiving it. The progress of the three movements from ‘sombre and tormented’ through ‘clear and calm’ to ‘joyous and sunny’ is unmistakably charted by the composer and these players are alert to every signal.

Niels Gade's three violin sonatas are spread across his entire career, the early A major dating from 1842 before his period of study in Leipzig, while the late B flat major was written in 1885, just five years before his death. Like Sibelius later Gade in his younger years entertained notions of becoming a violin virtuoso and the First and Second Sonatas (the latter composed in 1849 shortly after his return to Copenhagen) are products of this active interest in and familiarity with the instrument. Wilhelm Backhaus recorded Beethoven’s complete piano sonatas in mono for Decca in the early 1950s, and with the advent of stereo he began the process anew in 1958. Although he managed to finish 31 out of the 32, the pianist died before he got around to remaking the Hammerklavier (Op. 106). Consequently, the mono Hammerklavier fills out Backhaus’ stereo cycle that Decca now reissues in its Original Masters series. Although numerous piano mavens hold Backhaus’ Beethoven in high, nearly iconic esteem, I’ve always had mixed reactions to these recordings. In general, the pianist’s cavalier attitude toward Beethoven’s dynamics, articulation, and phrasing obscures the composer’s clearly specified linear trajectory and implicit drama.

Well-produced, fresh and original symphonic prog from Canada. These musicians all prove to be excellent instrumentalists playing extended solos and complex time signatures. Mostly the songs are fireworks of exciting and complex progressive rock. Once more they have recorded an ambitious retro prog style that can be best associated with Yes mainly due to Phil Naro high-pitched voice which is reminiscent of ex-Yes singer Jon Anderson. Throughout many impressive rock passages can also be related to bands like Rush or Kansas, the latter because of the use of the violin. This time guitarist Ed Bernard uses the violin more often than on their first musical effort. "Second Sound" is a fantastic album that will be enjoyed by people who particularly love the music of the above-mentioned bands.

Criminally overlooked upon its release, 1998 saw Chaka Khan shine on Come 2 My House. This album is thanks largely to the work of Prince, whose voice, words, and musicianship permeate the record all the way down to the colorful packaging. In fact, compared with New Power Soul, his own lackluster release that year, Come 2 My House and Graham Central Station's 2000, also from the Prince camp, should count as the real Prince albums of 1998.

Legendary French record executive, talent agent, and producer Jacques Canetti recorded French singer Jacques Higelin's first disc in 1965, though their meeting dates back to 1954, when Higelin was 14 years old and was already singing Trenet – at the time, Canetti refused to work with teenagers, whatever their talent. To celebrate the 2015 50-year anniversary of his career, the release of his 2013 album Beau Repaire, and a 2015 residency at the Philharmonie de Paris, Jacques Canetti Productions reissues his first album, with two bonus duets with French poet and vocalist Brigitte Fontaine.
