Secret Records are proud to release Ken Hensley & Live Fire 'Live In Russia'. The former Uriah Heep member Ken Hensley -on Keyboards and Vocals performing with his band Live Fire: Roberto Tiranti - Vocals and Bass Guitar, Ken Ingwersen - Lead Guitar & Backing Vocals , Tom Arne Fossheim - Drums. Recorded in concert in the City Centre of Novokuznetsk, Russian Federation on the 07 July 2018. Released in a CD/DVD combo pack.

For Cantante e tranquillo Keller Quartett leader András Keller and producer Manfred Eicher developed a carefully balanced program based entirely upon slow movements. “Together we began reviewing the recordings we had made over the last twenty years,” says Eicher, “juxtaposing works of different historical eras, uncovering correspondences between composers of the past and the present.” As a contextual frame for the project it was decided to record the slow movements of Beethoven’s Op.130 and 135, add new recordings of Kurtág, and integrate older and newer interpretations of Knaifel, Ligeti and Bach into the album.

Pianist Anna Gourari’s ECM debut, 2012’s Canto Oscuro, earned praise far and wide. Gramophone declared her version of the Bach-Busoni Chaconne “one of the most riveting on record,” while The Absolute Sound judged the entire disc “devastating.” Visions fugitives, Gourari’s second ECM release, showcases the intense beauty of her sound in Prokofiev’s title work, a set of 20 “fleeting visions” whose moods swing from lyrical to sardonic, grotesque to calm, melancholy to boisterous, nostalgic to insistent, and back again. The album also features Medtner’s “Fairy Tale in F minor”, from one of his sets of skazki – tales of musical figments, of melodies and harmonies, rhythmic profiles and altered chords, shapes and gestures and atmospheres.

Moldovan violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaya has recorded both traditional repertoire and music by contemporary Turkish composer Fazil Say, and on this album she turns to folk traditions of Eastern Europe and music based on those traditions. In addition to the folk music of Hungary, Romania, and the Ukraine, she plays works by Romanians George Enescu and Grigoras Dinicu, Transylvanian György Ligeti, Hungarian György Kurtág, Maurice Ravel, and Cuban-Chinese composer Jorge Sanchez-Chiong, who was a classmate of Kopatchinskaya's in Vienna. The roots of this music are close to Kopatchinskaya's heart and the album is clearly a labor of love.

Few jazz pianists could honestly claim to be more eclectic than the late Jaki Byard. Depending on the mood he was in, the Bostonian could acknowledge anyone from Dave Brubeck to James P. Johnson to Cecil Taylor. Byard wasn't afraid to take chances, and his open-mindedness served him well. The pianist's eclectic nature is impossible to miss on Solo/Strings, which is the 2000 reissue of his Prestige dates Jaki Byard with Strings (1968) and Solo Piano (1969) on a single 78-minute CD (minus, unfortunately, "Hello, Young Lovers" from Solo Piano). While Solo Piano is exactly that – an album of unaccompanied solo piano – Jaki Byard With Strings is somewhat misleading.
