Overdrive was an Italian band that was formed in Milan in 1985, at first consisting of Domenico Del Signore (keyboards), Joe Torelli (drums), Mauro Caputi (bass, vocals) and Jimmy A. (guitars). A few years down the line Caputi and Jimmy A. left, replaced by Pino Federiconi (vocals), Milton Damia (guitars) and Marco Marcelli (bass). This revamped line-up produced the only album released by this outfit; "The Human Machine"; which was released in 1990 by Musea Records.

The chosen repertoire on the album is Gustav Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder, recorded 30 June 1983 at the Herkulessaal der Residenz, Munich and Richard Strauss’ Tod und Verklärung, recorded on 17 February 1979 also at the Herkulessaal der Residenz, Munich. For a long time, Tod und Verklärung was the most popular of Richard Strauss’s early tone poems. It contains a wide range of memorable motifs subtly differentiated with the result that its music recurs whenever there is mention of death or transfiguration in Strauss’ later output.

Purity ThroughFire sets August 19th as the international release date for Neptrecus‘ highly anticipated third album, Ars Gallica. One of the black metal underground’s best-kept secrets, Neptrecus have been proudly flying the banner for traditional French black metal since 2011. During that time, they’ve patiently and studiously built a stellar canon of work that’s reverently rooted in ’90s classicism but not once smacks of regression or backwards-thinking complacency. If anything, Neptrecus staunchly set their sights on the horizon, and dutifully unfurl forward their attack with windswept grandeur and fiery passion. In short, timeless black metal imagination.

Ulgoroth is a one man depressive black metal project from Germany, founded by N. in 2012. The sound is a mixture of a raw, depressive atmosphere, sad melodies and ambient soundscapes. Lyrical themes and influences: sorrow, solitude, silence.

Disc 1: The original album featuring 2012 rematering. Disc 2: A CD containing previously unreleased material recorded during the BAD sessions, unreleased demo tracks, and remixes by popular artists. Disc 3: A CD featuring his concert held on July 16, 1988 at Wembley Stadium. Uses the multitrack-recorded master. Disc 4: A DVD featuring his concert held on July 16, 1988 at Wembley Stadium. The fourth Sphäre Sechs album was recorded during improvised studio sessions. Using a selected set of analog instruments Christian Stritzel and Martin Stürtzer have put together a mystic, slowly evolving ambient sound. A warm cocoon in cold space longing for the enigmas of the solar system and beyond.
Transient Lunar Phenomena are changes in appearance on the lunar surface of unknown origin. Light signals and color changes have been observed since the 6th century. The lunar events were officially cataloged in NASA technical report TR R-277 in 1968. Recommended for fans of dark space ambient and analog drone.

Not much to say. As usual, Perahia's conduction from the keybord blends the piano and the orchestra in ways we are just not used to. This is an awesome version of these wonderful concertos. For those who are used to Perahia's sound, color, dynamics, and ever-fresh interpretations, this disc will not dissapoint.

Issued in September 1969, Another Voyage is one of the Ramsey Lewis Trio's best efforts, during its initial release making it into the R&B Top 35. With the lineup of Lewis, drummer Maurice White, and bassist Cleveland Eaton, the LP serves as a prime example of the muscular Chicago sound while preserving the pianist's trademark elegance. In addition to such throbbing, kinetic workouts as Eddie Harris' "Bold and Black" and "If You've Got It Flaunt It, Pts. 1-2," there's a nice mid-groovin' cover of Stevie Wonder's "My Cherie Amour," Harris' contemplative "How Beautiful Is Spring," and the sumptuous "Opus V," written by Charles Stepney. Of special note is future Earth, Wind & Fire leader White's use of the kalimba on "Uhuru." The pumping "Do What You Wanna" became a post-release favorite during the late '90s and was included on the two-LP set Inside Ramsey Lewis.
