Ken Hensley is an English singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer, best known for his work with Uriah Heep during the 1970s. He wrote or co-wrote the majority of Uriah Heep's songs during this period, including the hit singles "Lady in Black" (on which he sang lead vocals), "Easy Livin'" and "Stealin'", as well as "Look at Yourself", on which he also sang lead vocals, and "Free Me". Cold Autumn Sunday was recorded in 2005 in Spain and features a variety of tracks from across Ken's solo career as well previously unreleased tracks.

Wagner Tiso is an internationally renowned musician whose achievements include a having a solid impact on the rise of major singer Milton Nascimento, an extensive set of composed soundtracks for movies, a solo discography comprising 28 albums, and performances with jazz giants such as Edison Machado, Paulo Moura, Ron Carter, Johnny Alf, and many others.

“This pianist has infinite possibilities!” – Stephen Kovacevich, Concert Artist MinJung Baek, a Fellowship recipient from the legendary pianist Earl Wild, is the winner of the 2006 Rachmaninoff International Piano Competition. Ms. Baek recently gave a successful debut recital at Carnegie Hall, performing an all-Rachmaninoff program that included Études-Tableaux, Variations on a Theme of Corelli, and the Second Sonata. Trained in New York City, Imola, and London, MinJung has performed at international venues and music festivals, including Barbican Hall, Wigmore Hall, and Schleswig-Holstein Festival. In 2006 she received an artist proclamation from the Illinois Senator Jeff Schoenberg. We are pleased to publish Ms. Baek’s performance, recorded live by producer Alessandro Simonetto at the historical Sala Maffeiana in Verona during the 2019 Aevea Piano Prize.

With the Sonata in E-flat Major, Op. 7, published by Artaria “for harpsichord and piano” in 1797, Beethoven expands the scope of keyboard technique and structural proportions. Indeed, some of the passagework in the outer movements must have been prohibitive to most amateur pianists; and the length of the sonata, at the time, made it the longest work for piano ever published, and the second longest sonata Beethoven composed (the record goes to the Sonata in B-flat Major, Op. 106 “Hammerklavier”). Metric displacements and violent dynamic contrasts inform the opening movement, while the prayer-like Adagio is possibly one of the most extraordinary achievements of Beethoven’s youth. The Allegro that follows, light and playful, is interrupted by a stormy “minore” section that was most likely the inspiration for the first of Schubert’s Klavierstücke, D 946. The melodious but challenging Rondo closes the sonata, unexpectedly, in a murmur.

The German-born, Vienna-based Hermann Grädener (1844–1929) is yet another composer whose music, esteemed in its own time, has since slipped between the floorboards of history. Yet this first recording of his two violin concertos – substantial works both, downstream from Brahms, and with a hint of Sibelius – prove him to have been one of the more important Romantics, with a strong sense of drama, a sure hand for musical architecture and a natural flair for extended melody.

Pál Vasvári was a Hungarian jazz bassist, composer and music producer. He played electric bass as well as double bass. Vasvári studied double bass at the Béla Bartók Conservatory in Budapest and graduated in 1981. From 1979 he was a professional jazz musician and played as a bassist first in the group Bacillus and the Kőszegi Quartet. In 1984 he founded his first own band and intensified composing and arranging. In 1986, together with the pianist Béla Szakcsi Lakatos, the Magyar Jazz Quartet was born. In 2000 he founded the Vasvári String Trio with violinist Frankie Látó and guitarist Miklós Birta. He worked regularly with foreign musicians on stage as well as in the studio, such as Dave Samuels, Alex Acuña, Russell Ferrante or Mike Stern. His album Outsider by Pál Vasvari and the Soul Six Band was released in 2011.

Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail (The Abduction from the Seraglio) is an opera „Singspiel“ in three acts with spoken rather than sung dialogue. This DVD shows the impeccable performance of the majestic Teatro della Pergola Florence. The tenors Rainer Trost (Belmonte) and Mehrzad Montazeri (Pedrillo) sing with convincing excellence. The most demanding parts are sung with effortless passion by Eva Mei (Constanze). Her aria ‘Martern aller Arten’ is overwhelming; with the singer’s voice fusing beautifully with the solo instruments. This Italian production is admirable with all its colourful decorations and costumes in an oriental style.

To mark the 50th anniversary of John Coltrane’s passing on 17 July 1967, a box set of the 1961 European Tour by French label Le Chant du Mont has been released. This is the first time the material has been available, other than as a bootleg copy, and serves as a historical record even if the audio quality is not perfect.
