This album by Dixie Peach, "Blues With Friends", is all new, all original material. The bluesy mix of guitars, keyboards, and vocals capture the current state of a band that has played together since 1972. The band's influences are obvious; but, this album shows their own originality. Electric blues guitar is prominently featured. In addition to the lead and slide guitars of Ira Stanley, the album includes guest apprearances by guitarists Lee Roy Parnell, Jack Pearson, Scotty Bratcher, and Lee Swisher. Etta Britt's vocal guest appearance is another highlight of the album.

The Love Vault, due to be released October 11 on this own Skytown Records label, was born out of U-Nam’s vast collection of previously unpolished, unrecorded or archived songs in the musician’s extensive arsenal of music.

Tindersticks have announced news of their new studio album, 'No Treasure But Hope', which will be released November 15th via City Slang. Three years since their last album proper, singer Stuart Staples decided Tindersticks’ return called for something special. “I felt we needed to be able to make something meaningful,” he says. No Tindersticks album has lacked meaning, of course, but these mavens of intimate, expansive mood song dig deep and diversify beautifully on No Treasure but Hope. Rich in intuitive warmth, lush melodies and an inquisitive spirit, it’s an album that casts a fresh light on Tindersticks’ core qualities, bathed in the glow of a band intent on rediscovering what they can do.

Bix Beiderbecke was one of the greatest jazz musicians of the 1920s. His colorful life, quick rise and fall, and eventual status as a martyr made him a legend even before he died. Possessor of a beautiful, distinctive tone and a strikingly original improvising style, Beiderbecke's only competitor among cornetists in the '20s was Louis Armstrong but, because of their different sounds and styles, you can't really compare them.
