Now That's What I Call Power Ballads. Now: 100 Hits: Power Ballads is a sextuple-disc compilation album which was released in the United Kingdom on 29 March 2019. This is the first NOW! spinoff album to be formatted in 6 CD's.

Primarily known for his work with the time honored saxophone quartet “ROVA”, Bruce Ackley’s 1999 solo effort The Hearing deserves some special attention and is one of those modern jazz jewels that has seemingly suffered from a lack of publicity and/or widespread exposure. Along with the dynamic rhythm section consisting of drummer Joey Baron and bassist Greg Cohen, the leader of this date performs solely on soprano sax as the overall results prove to be truly rewarding! Essentially, this release signifies modern jazz at it’s best and brightest. No messing around as this potent trio gets to the point in a flurry via the musician’s vigorous and often ferocious interplay, augmented by Ackley’s memorable compositions amid a bevy of twists, turns, circuitous paths and surging developments.

This instalment of the popular 'NOW 100 Hits' series comprises a number of guitar-filled anthems, ranging from Meat Loaf's 'Bat Out of Hell' and Rainbow's 'Since You Been Gone', to Rod Stewart's 'Maggie May' and The Clash's 'Should I Stay Or Should I Go'.

Fancy (Manfred Alois Perilano) is a German Italo disco singer who was popular in the mid to late 1980s. This CD was released on the 25th anniversary of creative activity Fancy… "I was able to help some artists on their way to success with my compositions and as a producer, and I got to know other artists when they were already world stars."

Singer Susanne Abbuehl has a unique approach to setting verse, getting inside the texts, exploring their inner melodies and rhythms, setting them free to float and sway. The approach is beautifully realized on “The Gift”, recorded in the South of France in the summer of 2012. Poetry embraced on this occasion includes words by Emily Dickinson, Emily Bronté, Sara Teasdale, Wallace Stevens, and Susanne’s own lyrics. In the seven years that have elapsed since the release of “Compass”, Abbuehl’s band has been reorganized. Wolfert Brederode remains an important, central presence. New to the ensemble are Matthieu Michel, a highly intuitive musical partner since 2009, whose flugelhorn is a wonderful second voice here, and Olavi Louhivouri, whose sensitive drumming was previously heard on Tomasz Stanko’s “Dark Eyes”.
