Urban Soul is a contemporary Jazz-Funk, Smooth Jazz group. The members are well known Jazz musicians like Jóhann Asmundsson, Michael Landau, Bill Champlin, Jonathan Fritzén. Their new album TWO is released by the independent Swedish label Prophone.

Shortly after the release of Lhasa, her third album, Lhasa de Sela and her musicians flew to Iceland to participate in the Reykjavik Arts Festival and give two concerts, on May 23rd and 24th, 2009. The Live in Reykjavik disc presents 14 songs performed for this occasion.

Jazz/pop vocalist/trombonist Aubrey Logan announced today the release of her anticipated sophomore album Where The Sunshine is Expensive. Set to release on March 22nd on Resonance Records, Where The Sunshine Is Expensive is essentially a love letter to her adopted hometown of Los Angeles. Logan unveiled the first taste of the upcoming album with the lead single "Understand," Logan's tongue in cheek take on honesty in the city of sunshine.

Decca Classics and The Metropolitan Opera present Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier, featuring a star-studded cast including Renée Fleming and Elīna Garanča. This is Renée Fleming’s last ever performance of the Marschallin, one of her signature roles, as performed at the Metropolitan Opera following a run at London’s Royal Opera House earlier this year. This new and notable production sees Robert Carsen update the setting to Vienna in 1911, the year of the opera’s premiere.

In 1980, guitarist and composer Eric Gale came off the commercial success of 1979's Part of You (produced by Ralph MacDonald) and didn't do the obvious thing. Rather than make another record that swung for the smooth jazz fences, he made a darker, deeper, funkier, and bluesier album with legendary New Orleans producer Allen Toussaint. The sessions included the cream of the Crescent City's jazz-funk crop as well as mates Charlie Earland, Grover Washington, Jr., and Idris Muhammad, three of soul-jazz's greatest lights – with special guest Arthur Blythe on the Charlie Parker nugget "Au Privave" as a curve ball. Toussaint wrote four of the album's seven tracks, and they range from the murky blue soul-jazz of "You Got My Life in Your Hands" to the sweet, boudoir-perfect urban-styled title track.

'That's My Kick' was Erroll Garner's first traditional studio album in five years and perhaps his most ambitious album ever as a composer. The selections were surely inspired by the new array of musicians assembled for the sessions, including percussionist José Mangual, who would go on to play with Garner for rest of his career. The electric atmosphere captured on tape here is at times raucous and always palpably joyful.

Christopher Willis British composer Christopher Willis returns to work with producer Armando Iannucci once again on the soundtrack for The Personal History of David Copperfield. The two had worked together previously on Veep and here Willis provides a neo-classical score performed by the Aurora Orchestra which is already getting good reviews. From a deeply stirring Mass to hauntingly re-imagined Leonard Cohen masterpieces, LUNA PEARL WOOLF: Fire and Flood encompasses 25 years of vocal works by composer Luna Pearl Woolf, as performed by the Choir of Trinity Wall Street, cellist Matt Haimovitz, and more, conducted by Julian Wachner. In her penetrating album notes, New York Times contributing writer Corinna Da Fonseca-Wollheim comments, “Luna Pearl Woolf trains a zoom lens on the collective experience, sometimes plunging us right into the midst of destruction and anarchy only to pull back, in one swoop, to a clear-eyed plane of compassion.” These arresting works include her frequently performed cello-choir concerto, Après moi, le deluge, which emerges from the tragic aftermath of Hurricane Katrina; and the dramatic, low-voiced To the Fire, with its prophetic, Old Testament text. In One to One to One, “three female singers reflect and refract the male gaze in an uproar of vocal virtuosity” (Da Fonseca-Wollheim); while Missa in Fines Orbis Terrae journeys to the ends of the earth in search of revelation, mercy, peace. Finally, two inventive arrangements for three voices and cello create a kaleidoscopic expansion of colors and timbres in Cohen’s ironic Everybody Knows and foreboding Who By Fire. Noted among a new generation of politically conscious and artistically progressive composers, Woolf has been heard widely across North America and in Europe. Her music is praised by The New York Times for its “psychological nuances and emotional depth.”

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong is an American funk jam band from Baltimore, Maryland. The band has garnered a following as a result of their consistent touring, playing as many as two hundred shows a year. Pigeons Playing Ping Pong began in 2009. They released their first full-length album titled Funk E P in 2010. This album name is a play on words says vocalist/guitarist Greg Ormont, and unfortunately the name led people to think this first album was just an EP. In July 2014, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong released their second full-length album titled Psychology.

Martha Argerich's reputation is secure. She will go down in history as one of the greatest artists of the 20th century, touching everything she does with a scorching genius. And of her all-too-few recordings, this is one of the most celebrated: live performances of two of the great warhorses of the piano concerto repertoire, here transformed into the sleekest, most finely honed of racehorses. Tantalisingly, her Rachmaninov Third had to wait 13 years before it was issued, but when it finally arrived no one was in any doubt that it had been worth the wait. Its epic 45-minute span emerges here as a single stream of consciousness, with the finale as brilliantly explosive as you'll ever hear it.

SoundDiary was formed in Vienna/Austria back in 2007, at first under the name ‘Momentarium’. In the beginning the band concentrated on playing cover songs from their favourite bands like Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Sigur Rós, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Muse. After performing live a few times the band decided to adopt the name ‘SoundDiary’.
