"Catwoman" is the debut single from Catherine "Cat" Glover, known on this under the mononym Cat. She was Prince's dancing partner from 1987-1989 and while she did rap and sing on his albums, she wouldn't releasing anything until she was away from Prince's camp. This was released by Red Dot via WEA Germany, around the time Prince came out with "Batdance".

This is Cat, as in Cat Glover of Prince fame, the lady whom was mistaken for Prince on the cover of the Sign 'O' The Times 12" single. Cat would dance for him for a few albums before letting her go. This was her attempt in hoping for a successful career, done around the same time Prince was doing the Batman soundtrack. It would have been a nice tie-in, but unfortunately it flopped.

She was able to work with Tim Simenon of Bomb The Bass fame for this single, so all was not lost.
