Daniil Trifonov - Transcendental (Liszt: Etudes S. 139, 141, 144, 145) (2016)

Considered at the end of his adolescence as one of the greatest pianists in history, Franz Liszt was both visionary artist, entrepreneur, philanthropist, educator, and mundane scene of man. "It was a phenomenon," exclaims the pianist Daniil Trifonov, who dedicates the album Concert studies here, Transcendental, his illustrious predecessor. "Trifonov who, himself, was considered at the end of adolescence as one of the most phenomenal pianists of his generation, according to the improbable palmares of competition he won: first prizes at Competition young pianists, the Mendelssohn Competition and the Competition of young musicians, all three in Moscow between 1999 and 2003 (remember that Trifonov was born in 1991!) and, especially, international recognition with the Rubinstein Prize and the Tchaikovsky Competition, both in 2011, both first prizes … No wonder that with such a record, the pianist has rapidly launched on the global forefront, with his polished technique as the diamond, his musicality to the Russian, exalted and powerful. Liszt transcendent repertoire fits like a glove.
