This CD brings together all the works for violin and piano. Mel Bonis leaves an important work of about three hundred pieces. The essential is composed between 1892 and 1914. His music, of postromantic style is well inscribed in his time. She is very varied, ranging from drama to humor, often vigorous and sensual, with impressive or orientalist expansions, always very well written and of great sensitivity. It is a personal writing and easily identifiable by the originality of harmonies and rhythms. A critic wrote in 1923 for the "Courrier des Musiciens": "I recall hearing a melody from the Melissis's composition at the Salon des Musiciens, which had given me infinite pleasure … This sonata written for piano and violin (performed) an andante built on a Greek melody of a very sober writing. The theme developed very happily, then suddenly burst a powerful and colorful finale. Nothing was more pleasant than this opposition of shadow and light so artistically rendered. "Françoise Tillard, pianist and singing conductor, conducts at the University Paris III-Sorbonne new a master letters and music forming at the recital piano and singing . She devotes the rest of her time to chamber music. In 1971, she entered the Conservatoire de Paris where she obtained her First Violin Prize and her First Prize in chamber music. The prize went to the Niccolò Paganini International Violin Competition in Genoa and second prize to the International Chamber Music Competition in Trapani.
