Talking Monkeys brings us back to our chattering monkey quality and tracks down the repressed animality that is dormant in each of us to let it free itself. Formed in Paris in 2011 by Joachim Müllner and Thomas Martinez, Edwardian, Thomas Chalindar and Maxime Lunel, In The Canopy unveiled their first autoproduced album after EP Never Return and The Light Through.

In the image of this fantasy canopy, perched between sky and earth, In The Canopy's music evokes both the progressive rock of Led Zeppelin and the complex vocal harmonies of Fleet Foxes, influenced by Grizzly Bear, Dirty Projectors, Tame Impala or Radiohead. From there, the canopians dream of a preposposte of choice to study the world of the bottom.

Motivated by a political and poetic will, they develop in this album themes such as the deconstruction of stereotypes and the criticism of capitalism and power relations, but also try to sketch new outlines to the unspeakable, the mystical … musical journey offers as many ways of traverse as of fast ways towards the tenderness and the hardness, the calm, the crash and the distortion, the concrete and the dreamlike, the gliding and the percussion, the dark and the luminous.

This album is the fruit of a collective process whose ambition has been widened at the confluence of the individual identities of each of its members.
